Days Away

Thursday, January 17, 2008

Well the big day is almost here...8 days away! I really am so excited about the wedding, but I cannot wait for it to be over. I know that probably sounds bad, but all this stress and anxiety is killing me. My parents sold my bedroom furniture and we moved it all yesterday. This probably sounds crazy, but it made me cry! I have had this furniture since I was a little girl, and it is kind of bitter sweet that it's gone. We move OUR furniture in tomorrow, and I am very excited about that. I had to put my alarm clock on a box last night! I also have the last of all my parties tomorrow night. It is the big one...the Bachlorette Party. My sister-in-law, Rachel, is hosting the party, and she has guaranteed me that there will be plenty to be embarrassed about. After that party, I will be heading to spend the night with 16 6th grade girls. Keith is in school to become a youth minister and is currently working at our local church as an associate to youth ministries. Each year our church hosts what we call BLAST WEEKEND. It's a big ordeal that involves all the kids spending the weekend together and racing derby cars at the end of the big event. It just so happens that our wedding falls the weekend after this exhausting but wonderful weekend. I will be spending the weekend with my Sunday School class...the 6th grade girls, and will be lucky to get 12 hours of sleep the whole weekend. It sounds like I am complaining, but I am really not. The main goal of this weekend is to bring in kids from around the city and introduce them to the Love of Christ. So, please keep this in your prayers. Another big day comes on Monday...it's Keith's birthday. He will be 23 years old. I have a special gift for him...but it's secret. It is so hard to believe that in 8 days I will be his wife, but I definently could not imagine spending my life with anybody else...I know it sounds sappy, but sometimes the truth is.

Well, that pretty much sums up the wonderfully busy weekend before our wedding!!!

God Bless

Busy Weekend

Monday, January 7, 2008

This past weekend was full of wonderful wedding related activities. Saturday night was my lingerie shower...the party that I dreaded the most. If you know me at all then you know that I am a very reserved person, and the idea of opening scandalous lingerie in front of 20 people was not my idea of fun. All and all, I had such a good time! My best friends, Madelaine and Amy were responsible for the event. The evening consisted of games, presents, and a cake in the shape of purple panties and a bra. It was so cute!!! The best thing of all...the blinking crown and the purple boa! I received lots of beautiful lingerie and only one REALLY embarrassing gift...thanks Amy!!!!

On Sunday we had the bridesmaid's luncheon. Madelaine's mother was kind enough to host the party and it was absolutely beautiful. All 9 bridesmaids and myself sat around a beautifully decorated table. Each bridesmaid received their own miniature bouquet, personalized notepad, and a special gift from me. Mrs. Carla had prepared a wonderful lunch, and we had a Red Velvet cake in the shape of a gift as dessert. We took some pictures and I will be sure to post them soon. I can honestly say that I have never felt so blessed! Although a party seems like a small thing, I could see their love through each and every detail. I really appreciate them, and I love them all so much!!! The Lord has blessed with me so many wonderful things in this life, and my beautiful friends are just evidence of his love and grace.

23 Days and Counting

Wednesday, January 2, 2008

It's official...we are exactly 23 days away from the big day. Life is beginning to get stressful as we prepare for marriage. Last night reality set in...we went through all of our wonderful wedding gifts and spent 4 hours setting up the kitchen. Everything is now in its place and I can finally see my dining room floor. We managed to make it through the night with no premarital arguments or major injuries...just a couple paper cuts. We cannot wait to get married, and the painfully cold weather of Alabama makes Jamaica look better and better. Please continue to keep us both in your prayers. Keith and I truly desire nothing more than God's will upon our life together.

Life is Good!!!
